Hi Lars,
Sorry for my slow response--I've been sick all week and wanted to give
this some thought before replying. I have mixed feelings..
First, I found out this week that Mike is going to be out for the next
month, so we are on our own for any planning here. Also, I'm on vacation
the week before this (Mar 14-22), and the week after is KubeCon in
Amsterdam (which I'm planning to attend), so I'm not wild about traveling
this week as well.
That aside, if speakers are interested, then on the face of it I'm not
sure there would be much downside to a Ceph track at SUSECON. But making
it successful will require some critical mass of speakers, developers, and
users... and I don't have much sense of whether that's there...

Dear team,
we're all saddened by the cancellation of Cephalocon and particularly
the reason for it, and hope everyone stays safe and healthy.
We have a lot of great content queued for Cephalocon, and are not quite
sure yet when Cephalocon can be rescheduled in 2020, or more likely, if
it can be at all.
So much thought and planning has gone into the event and content that it
would be a shame to see it go to waste!
SUSE has our annual SUSECON planned for end of March in Dublin, and we'd
like to extend the offer of having a Ceph track at the event.
We could offer registrants a very discounted price, and also invite
speakers from Cephalocon to attend and present their sessions at SUSECON
(in supplement to the Ceph content that is already there). We could also
feasibly dedicate a room one day to the Ceph Foundation.
We should also be able to record sessions there, so while it's not as
wonderful as being in Seoul, content could be made available globally
and help those who can't travel at this time.
SUSE would like to help mitigate the cancellation and help the community
with the coronavirus impact.
Let me know your thoughts.
Regards,
Lars
PS: Sorry for the Cc, not sure which of the two lists is best.
