Due to COVID-19 we're not doing physical Ceph Day events, but now trying
to research into doing virtual events. If you're still interested in
organizing, please fill out this survey, thanks!
Sage,
At this point, I think September will be better option to have a Ceph
Day Seoul.
Let's hope COVID-19 situation be 100% under control in upcoming months
all over the world. :)

Hi Jaesuk,
Both of those options sound like great opportunities to do a Ceph Day
Seoul. I think the main question is whether July is too soon for
a Seoul
event. It looks like COVID-19 may be peaking but it's a bit early to
tell. Assuming things improve over the next few weeks I'd be all for
moving forward with one or the other option. Do you have a
preference
which one?

Dear Everyone,
This is Jaesuk Ahn. We are all also saddened by the cancellation of
Cephalocon in Seoul, and hope everyone in Ceph community stays
safe and
healthy.
Since all community members in Korea were really excited about
getting
Cephalocon in our country, it is a real shame to
see the opportunity
getting away.
Having said that, I would like to offer some options to have
Ceph presence
in Seoul. It does not to be Cephalocon, however,
it would be
great we can
have community presence (some of speakers,
participants) here in
Seoul.
Option 1. I am working with OpenStack Ops Meetup community to host
OpsMeetup (this is a global event happening twice a year) in
Seoul in early
September. If we have "Ceph Community
Meetup" along with
OpsMeetup, that
would be a good addition
Option 2. OpenStack, Ceph, OCP, Kubernetes User Groups in Korea are
planning "Open Infra Community Day" this year, probably sometime
in
July.
This is the biggest annual community event we are
doing as an
extended
version of original "Open Infrastructure
Days Korea".

This is just an idea at this level. I would like to hear your
opinion on
these options. If you are interested in pursuing
one of the
above ideas, I
would be happy to follow up, with support from
community members
in Korea.
FYI, we can possibly discuss combining Option 1 and Option 2, but it
requires more discussion involving several stakeholders.:) I
will try.
Thanks
