just as a test, I put my OSDs each inside of a LXD container. Set up cephFS and mounted it inside a LXD container and it works.

Thanks for making such effort! I am little bit new with the statefull containers, but I am getting the impression it is mostly by design storage is provided at deployment to the namespace.
