Attention: newer version of Ceph (18.x) do *NOT* run on older AMD Opteron anymore. The mgr/mon/osd crash on those due to missing instructions in the CPU. From a recent upgrade that failed, the error message is: [23:18] blind:~% kubectl -n rook-ceph logs -c chown-container-data-dir rook-ceph-mon-im-5dcbbb575c-d5bjx Fatal glibc error: CPU does not support x86-64-v2 From my understanding the dependency on the newer cpu comes due to the switch of the containers of ceph to a newer glibc version.
