I think I found 2 options to do this with cephadm:
1. build a custom container image: https://docs.ceph.com/en/octopus/cephadm/install/#deploying-custom-container... 2. use the --shared_ceph_folder during cephadm bootstrap: 'Development mode. Several folders in containers are volumes mapped to different sub-folders in the ceph source folder'
The shared folder method is only meant for development. So that is not an option in a production environment. Building a custom container image should be possible, but I don't think I want to go there.
Are there more options?
It would be nice if it was possible to deploy the managers with a custom service specification that for example mounts a folder from the host system to /usr/share/ceph/mgr/<module> in the container.
