Hi, I am the author of that blog post referenced in the tracker (CephPGImbalance). I'm not a developer though, one of my co-workers who is a dev (not for Ceph though) helped creating that workaround. But I created that tracker and hoped one of the Ceph devs would pick it up and implement a real fix. We are not really familiar with the Ceph development processes, and my co-worker isn't familiar with Ceph internals, so it's difficult for us to create a real fix for the imbalance calculation. If anyone considers this a as a valid workaround that could land in the MGR module and also change the Prometheus alerts, we could create a PR containing exactly the workaround we implemented. But I have serious doubts about it, tbh. Thanks, Eugen Zitat von Matthew H via ceph-users <ceph-users@ceph.io>:
Hi,
I don't see a PR for this, nor do I see the tracker having a backport label to tentacle.
It would be good to have you (or someone else) propose a PR, and it can be added to the tracker for review.

Hello, It woulb be nice to include this: https://tracker.ceph.com/issues/71310<https://qcflzmq6.r.us-east-1.awstrack.me/L0/https:%2F%2Ftracker.ceph.com%2Fissues%2F71310/1/0100019d70da79f3-0ae0bf8c-f0c4-4cb4-aaa1-7f95a24d6bda-000000/gZNYIi6rCUBmhcVqMCn9_Mx-aTY=473> I have two classes of nvme disks, ones (TLC) with 7TB and others (QLC) with 30TB for different pools and it would be great to have the patch that is in #71310 merged into master to have it on 20.2.2 and also backport to older releases.
Thanks, Alfonso Escribano
