I thought it would be easier to use the provided packages and avoid the additional hassle with setting up and maintaining Docker. Also, if the images are build using Ubuntu 24.04 (I haven’t checked), the images would have the same issues. In addition we normally do not allow SSH logins between two production hosts, which seems to be a requirement for Cephadm. -- Stefan
