When I try to enable the smb mgr module on a 19.2.3 cluster, it tells me that it is not available: # ceph mgr module enable smb Error ENOENT: all mgr daemons do not support module 'smb', pass --force to force enablement Regards -- Robert Sander Linux Consultant Heinlein Consulting GmbH Schwedter Str. 8/9b, 10119 Berlin https://www.heinlein-support.de Tel: +49 30 405051 - 0 Fax: +49 30 405051 - 19 Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg - HRB 220009 B Geschäftsführer: Peer Heinlein - Sitz: Berlin

What version of Ceph are you using? The plan is to fully support the new mgr module and related smb features in tentacle. If you are using squid it's likely you have just parts of the smb stack because of how the release timing worked out.

This was on 19.2.3. The article https://ceph.io/en/news/blog/2025/smb-manager-module/ suggests that it should work already. Maybe this should be corrected.
